Pitching Camps at The Lab

Like our hitting training, we have three main principles that our pitching/throwing training revolves around; Proper Warm-Up/Recovery, Throwing Velocity, and Throwing Command. With these, pitchers and fielders alike stand a better chance of being successful on the field and keeping their arm healthy for the throwing demands of baseball. We take arm care seriously here, which reflects in our training and hope to pass these principles on to the younger athletes!

Below is more information on our training principles and available camps:

  • Arm health is always at the top of every baseball player’s list. During the camp, athletes will get the opportunity to learn the proper way to warm up with J-Bands, Wrist Weights, and PlyoCare balls. Athletes will also learn a post-throwing recovery routine to prime their arm and body for healing.

  • This is a skill necessary to compete at all levels. Through the use of constraint drills with PlyoCare balls, we help our athletes build efficient throwing mechanics and arm strength which lead to velocity. Kids will also get to see their throwing velocity with our radar guns!

  • Being able to locate and command throws is an important skill for pitchers and fielders that is difficult to develop. With different training tools and throwing implements and continuous throwing with intent to a specific target, we can help develop this ability. We like to play various command-based games during our camps throughout warming-up, long toss, and mound throws.
